Sketching and Learning Procreate

If you’ve found this page, then you have obviously dug pretty deep. Naturally I would assume that a bunch of dead cats would scare most people off.

But not you. Not yet anyway.

Okay, so why the dead cats?

Since 1990.

As a child I grew up in a family who hated cats as much as everyone hated Collingwood. My dad would hiss at the wild ones chilling in the backyard, pulling the rubbish out of the garbage bin. And my mum would always huff about a cat that had had crossed the line by chilling out on the roof of the car. So really, my hatred for cats has always been a family affair.

The love.

I’ve always loved sketching. It’s been something that I could just do without really thinking about it. So drawing cats in random situations has been somewhat of a hobby. I’m attracted to design that thinks outside of the box. I also like art that make people smile, or laugh or even get mad.

Storytelling.

It’s important for me to tell a story and to get people talking. Art, illustration and design is all subjective. So to be able to tell my stories through a sketch on an iPad means that I can do it quickly. There’s no ego. You can take it or leave it.Like it or lump it.

Why not.

So as Andy Warhol said:

“Don’t think about making art, just get it done. Let everyone else decide if it’s good or bad, whether they love it or hate it. While they are deciding, make even more art.”
